Playing poker is just one of Bernard Lee’s many talents. Lee has grown into a poker media personality whose name and expertise can be seen in print, heard on radio and both seen and heard on television and the internet.
In February 2010, Lee was named official spokesperson for Foxwoods Resort Casino’s World Poker Tour-branded Poker Room. Foxwoods, a charter member of the WPT, was the first major casino to sponsor a poker professional.
Lee is the co-host for ESPN.com’s weekly poker show, ESPN Inside Deal. This show not only features some of the biggest players in the game and cover poker news each week, but take an in-depth look into the world of poker. Guests have included Chris Moneymaker, Dennis Phillips and members of the 2009 November Nine.
Lee hosts the premier poker radio show in the New England area, “The Bernard Lee Poker Show,” on 1120AM Boston, 830 AM in Worcester, 970 AM on Cape Cod on Money Matters Radio Network. The show, which debuted in May 2007, incorporates interviews with poker guests including celebrated players and prominent industry personnel. Previous guests have included Joe Cada, Peter Eastgate, Joseph Hachem, Greg Raymer, Chris Moneymaker, Norman Chad, Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Mike Sexton, Dennis Phillips and members of the 2008 and 2009 November Nine. In addition to current poker news and related information, Lee utilizes calls and e-mails from listeners to discuss poker topics and tips. In May 2008, Lee joined the Rounder’s Radio family, adding “The Bernard Lee Poker Show” to its solid list of poker programming available online.
Lee has been writing a Sunday poker column for the Boston Herald since September 2005. Each column revolves around a critical hand to create understandable lessons or display a remarkable hand. In July of 2008, Lee released his first book, The Final Table, Volume I, which is be a compilation of his 2005-2006 Boston Herald columns.
In March 2008, Lee debuted as a poker commentator covering the WSOP Circuit Main Event in Atlantic City, N.J. for www.worldseriesofpoker.com. In May 2008, Lee was the lead commentator for the Eastern Poker Tour Championship Tournament seen in New England on Comcast Sports Net. Also, in June of 2008, he was invited back to commentate the WSOP $5,000 no-limit hold ’em event in Las Vegas, NV.
